PCT International Filing
For U.S. inventors and companies, the key to international patent rights is prompt and timely filing of a U.S. patent application. If you wish to pursue filing your patent application in countries beyond the U.S., we can help you. Beem Patent Law Firm can file international patent applications through the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
The PCT provides a unified procedure for filing patent applications in any one of the many states contracting with the PCT. One application is filed with a Receiving Office where preliminary patentability searches and examinations are conducted. The single application is then examined by each country within which the applicant wishes to obtain a patent. This is called the “national phase” within each country. It is important to note that the PCT does not grant a single “international patent.” Instead, the PCT provides a simpler way to obtain patents in several countries throughout the world.
Beem Patent Law Firm is well-equipped to handle PCT filings. Please contact the Firm for more information on how we can represent you in your patent matter.
